3D Scanning For Accurate Animation

When creating animation that has the dependability that manufacturing lines require, how do you get accurate data that transcribes exactly to a digital form? An artist’s imagination can only be so exact, whether you’re creating a simulation, animation, or an accurate model.

3D scanning using laser technology enables reverse engineering data to be accurately transcribed and translated to a digital means, resulting in animation that has the exact specifications of the real product. When you have the data through digital means, it can be better transcribed to an animated form, perfect for accurate depictions in computer simulations that reflect the exact nature of the objects.

3D scanning is the most accurate way to guarantee the exact data is imported properly into your software, ensuring the legitimacy of any computer tests. It’s the most accurate way to conduct reverse engineering, delivering the exact digital specifications so you can remake a product through animation with a realistic grasp of its complexity and modifications. It takes away any judgment calls with data that exactly matches the model you’re replicating.

It’s a technology that has been widely used in everything from video games to cartoons to computer simulations. It’s enabled realistic animation in everything from Disney to Pixar. The laser scan creates a dense cloud of millions of data points, importing the data to a CAD software which converts the triangles of the character’s surface down to a thousandth of an inch. The data is then captured and used in animation programs, creating accurate animation that exactly reflects the constructs of the item or character being scanned.

By creating a computer form that exactly represents the object, a complete and accurate 3d model can be made within seconds. Rather than being a replacer of creativity, the technology increases the accuracy of the artist’s imagination, beneficial for everything from a computer simulation to digital animation to Hollywood special effects.

The human eye is essentially unreliable. Laser scanning delivers data directly from the dimensions of the actual object, so there are no judgment calls to be made. Computer simulations are only as accurate as the data that comprises their tests. Lasers enable a direct accuracy for movies, cartoons and video games, revolutionizing our world by presenting the digital world as realistically as the physical realm.

Thin Ribbons Bestow Comfort as Well as Dignity

Once again, America’s brave sons and daughters are making the definitive sacrifice overseas, defending our freedoms from tyranny and oppression abroad. When we ask so much from our military, the least we can do is honor that sacrifice by commemorating their struggles. Parades are more than testaments of patriotism. They are expressions of gratitude, a handshake for a job well done in the spirit of the American military uniform.

Ribbons and medals are bestowed for heroism performed on the battlefield, and thus should be worn proudly as tributes to the valor the uniform represents. Many soldiers and veterans are opting for lighter, thin ribbons that hold the same dignity and shininess of the regular medals, but are much lighter to wear and ideal for parades. They take off the weight while carrying the honor. Sacrifices have already been made in the performance of duty. Lighter ribbons honor that sacrifice with dignity, while being more comfortable for the solider or veteran at the same time.

In fact, thin ribbons have been approved by the Institute of Heraldry for all branches of the United States military, including the Army, Air Force, Navy, or Coast Guard. The medals were first distributed during the Korean War as a way to bestow the same dignity that was more comfortable to wear, not weighing the soldier or veteran down anymore than was necessary.

In the face of two military theaters in Iraq and Afghanistan and the flames of war on every horizon, thin ribbons and lighter medals are becoming more popular as people wish to proclaim their patriotism in a more comfortable and convenient uniform that doesn’t weigh them down. It’s especially helpful as many parades take place in the warmth of the summer, which can be trying on the brave men and women who march so proudly down our cities’ streets. Why shouldn’t they be honored comfortably with a dignity they deserve?

If you have a son or daughter, father or grandfather who has served or currently in service to their country, ease their comfort in long hot parades with thinner medals and ribbons that are lighter but still pay the same dignified tribute. It’s a humble way of saying thank-you for sacrifices so nobly made for the freedoms we hold dear.
